Listed below the approximate capacities for a 300TDI service.

 

Engine oil change

Engine sump oil -5,8 litres, add an extra when refilling after fitting new filter .85 litres

Gearbox, differential and transfer box

Manual gearbox 2,67 litres
Automatic gearbox 9,1 litres
Transfer gearbox oil 2,30 litres
Front differential 1,70 litres
Rear differential 1,70 litres
Power steering box and reservoir LHD 2,90 litres
Power steering box and reservoir RHD 3,40 litres
Swivel pin housing oil (each) 0,35 litres

Other

Fuel tank usable fuel 89,0 litres
Cooling system 300Tdi models 11,50 litres
Washer bottle 7,0 litres

Some basic tools for servicing

Good quality socket set, I have a Hafords professonal set, but you will still need some additional items, like;

• Breaker bar for those difficult jobs requiring some leverage
• Wheel bearing socket 52mm or hub nut box spanner
• Screwdrivers
• Oil capturing device, I use a bucket there is enough room between the engine and gear boxes to use a bucket
• Rubber gloves
• Swarfega for cleaning your hands
•  Some spare diesel, to poor into a new diesel filter so you don't need to prime the system
