Hi,
I admit it, I'm a Land Rover fan and always have been. I even have friends who are Land Rover fan's as well, yes they exist. I watch UK Army Land Rover's going slowly on the motorway and think "wish I was playing with that", I like Land Rover Wolf's, they are so cool. I've even seen the Lara Croft Land Rover in a showroom several year ago and went hmmmmmmmmmm.
However till 2010, I have never been able to justify owning a Land Rover until I moved out of London to a semi rural area near called Littleworth near Cowfold, West Sussex. We have mud, soggy roads, flooding, ice, snow, no public transport as such (thats not true I get the No 17 bus to Brighton) and Land Rovers everywhere! OMG, how cool
So I have the ideal excuse to fulfill my childhood dream, get a Landy 4x4 overland prepare it and use it as my semi-daily drive (more about that later), but also as a car fit for fishing, camping and overland adventure travel.
Sounds good eh! well, as with all things in life, if only it was that easy, watch this space. I know what will happen, life, work and money will get in the way at some point. I'll put some of that up here if it's remotely interesting.
However, this is my blog about an attempt to get one of the things I have always wanted to do done a 4x4 adventure in Africa or Norway!
I know it will take a few years to buy, prepare, plan and eventually go on a trip, so I might as well write this Blog as a way of recording the journey, in more sense than one.
Chris
"Living with Larry" is about the joys of Land Rover Discovery ownership, maintenance, overland modifications and travel. Larry has become a member of the family and is normally seen nipping (if you can call it that) around the West Sussex countryside. Or playing in the snow, green laning or in France and Morocco.
